After pouring through over hundreds of nominations, it is very clear that our community has some big stars on the horizon. We were so impressed with the overwhelming amount of talented nominees and know that each and every one of you has a bright future ahead. So without further ado, we are very pleased to introduce our Top 5 Finalists for the 2013 Best New Emerging Child Photographer! Marina Locke is a wedding and portrait photographer living and working in the town of Agnes Water – 1770, in Queensland, Australia. From her site: “I am Marina. I was named after the sea. I’m a wind in your hair, bare feet, hair in your face, sunshine-on-your-skin kind of girl. I love a good love story. The kind where soul mates stumble upon each other when they are so young, or the kind where they search nearly a whole life time for each other. I don’t take perfect pictures. To me they are imperfectly perfect. They are real and honest, I want you to remember what you were feeling on that day, in that moment. Eva Deitch is a Chicago portrait photographer, with a focus on kids and family. From her site: “My love for art + design, beautiful light + color, and the human spirit, shape the way she looks at the world, and the kinds of photos I’d take of you and your family. I enjoy meeting and learning about new people, observing the ways in which we are so similar and so uniquely individual, and maintaining a child-like curiosity of the world we live in.
