Happy Monday everyone! As a special treat, we are thrilled to announce the launch of The Beloved Field Guide:  Family I today!

Beloved is an emerging photographic genre centered on the creation of meaning-rich portraits that express the individual, beautiful light each person is born with and celebrating the relationships that fill our lives with joy and purpose.

    Workshop Spotlight and Giveaway!

January 26, 2012 | Posted by Kristen the designer

Our 2010 Photographer of the Year and NAPCP Member, Dana Pugh, is hosting a workshop with the wonderful Ashley Skjaveland this May! Here are a few details from the site:

A workshop with no name — a  retreat for the creative. We are two friends with a passion for beauty & natural connection; Dana offers insight into her unique, award winning brand of lifestyle family art, while Ashley brings her signature style & perspective on natural, free flowing newborn imagery. Combined we are able to offer a one-of-a-kind learning & sharing experience you simply won’t find anywhere else. We hope to show how two photographers with two completely different styles approach their work & their business from a place of love; both for their craft & their clients.

We are passionate about participation & group discussions — energy, thoughts & ideas are free flowing in this kind of environment. It’s electric.

Spots are limited for the workshop so be sure to sign up as soon as possible! Additional details and information can be found here!

And to add to the excitement both Ashley and Dana will be attending WPPI this year and hosting an afternoon discussion over coffee and treats in their MGM hotel room. The event format is lighthearted and honest as they answer your questions in a casual atmosphere. No script. No holds barred. Just them, you and a small intimate group creating inspiration for your business and your craft.

Dana and Ashley have been kind enough to offer one free seat to a NAPCP member! Want a chance to learn and grow with these 2 talented ladies? Here’s how!

    1) Must be a NAPCP member

    2) Must like both Short and Sweet Photography’s Facebook page as well as NAPCP’s Facebook page.

    My Baby’s Love Letters Giveaway!

December 12, 2011 | Posted by Alice Park

My Baby’s Love Letters personalized initials are a typographical meditation on love, relationship, and celebration, and honor the first initial of someone you are mad about. The large initials are filled with line-after-tiny-tight-line of the name of Baby, newlyweds, birth date, wedding date, special song, the word LOVE many times, and/or any secret messages you wish to include. The type makes a tweedy texture that reveals the words upon closer inspection. You almost need a magnifying glass to read it, and it’s a fun exercise to search out all the loving missives inside the letter.

My Baby’s Love Letters are printed on 8 x 10, 100% recycled cotton archival paper, with letterpress embellishments of a red foil heart or a shining gold star, and are strikingly framed in matte black, flat-faced (no miters) frames. Other icons are available for an additional fee. Please inquire. Perfect gifts for newborns, newlyweds, Bar or Bat Mitzvahs, Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza, Valentine’s Day, weddings, birthdays, birth days, anniversaries, christenings, new homes, girlfriends or just a special something for someone you adore.

The four-inch matte black frames make My Baby’s Love Letters a striking focal point in any room of the home. In a hallway surrounded by family photos, they are amazing. Two or four of them grouped above a couch are nonpareil. Babies’ famous attraction to black and white images make My Baby’s Love Letters a stare-a-thon for newborns when propped on the changing table.  They are gifts that last for years and years, a cherished reminder of all the endless love coming from you.

Zida Borcich of Studio Z Mendocino has graciously given our readers a chance to win a loveLOVEloveLOVE frame outlining your child’s initial.  Looking for that perfect Christmas or new baby gift?  Details of winning below:

    (1) Must “Like” BOTH Studio Z Mendocino and NAPCP’s Facebook page

    (2) Write something nice on Studio Z Mendocino’s Facebook wall on behalf of NAPCP

    (3) Post a comment on the NAPCP wall to let us know you’ve completed all of these steps!
