The first official NAPCP International Image Competition Winners Exhibition is so close, and the NAPCP team is looking forward to celebrating with all of you.

Make sure you book your travel reservations for the whole weekend of October 5th! Bring your best photographer friend for some inspiration, education, and fun!  We know that after an Atlanta Celebrates Photography weekend, you’ll feel invigorated, with new perspectives. As you read through the details below, we want you to picture yourself there with your fellow NAPCP friends and members.

A festival guide full of beautiful photographs and design has been printed and distributed by the thousands, highlighting the winners of NAPCP’s International Image Competitions and this beautiful event. NAPCP is ecstatic to be sharing the winners of our International Image Competitions with the art community at large.

Come for the Winners Exhibition, join us for a morning meetup at Krog Street Market, stay for more of the festival (we’ve outlined a few suggested events), dine in the beautiful and historic Buckhead district that NAPCP calls home, and treat yourself to a weekend of magic.

As with any festival, it may feel like there’s not enough time to do everything you want during Atlanta Celebrates Photography. We want to share some events to see and attend during your visit! Here are a few NAPCP team picks:

Instant Gratification, Atlanta School of Photography

In a digital age, we are constantly connected and seeking instant gratification; others however, have returned to the magic of the instant film photography. With this process, there are no do-overs; an image is created straight from the camera and develops in the palm of your hand. Today, many contemporary artists are looking again to the instant film as a viable option for image making. Whether your purpose is instant gratification or to disconnect from cumbersome equipment, we want to see how you are embracing the instant image in a contemporary world. This traveling exhibit will be in Atlanta for the month of October.

ACP Special Exhibitions: Teen Spirit, Brickworks Gallery

Entering its 6th year, ACP’s collaborative program with inpatient teens at Scottish Rite and Egleston hospitals has impacted participants beyond everyone’s expectations. Some very special volunteer photographers, led by ACP co-founder Corinne Adams, have been leading 400 teens a year to explore their identity (including or in spite of their diagnosis) through writing and photographic self-portraiture.

The Art of the Portrait, Blue Mark Studios

Blue Mark Studios proudly presents “The Art of The Portrait, a group exhibition featuring four contemporary artists exploring the traditional subject matter of portraiture. Located in downstairs Blue Mark Gallery, “The Art of The Portrait” explores the dynamic potential of a portrait to express personal and universal truths. Featuring work by Ambler Hutchinson, Jessica Becker, Jane Shirek, and Hollis A. King.
