29 May Session Share: Mommy & Me Greenhouse
There’s something extra magical about photographing a bond as timeless as a mother and child, and doing so in the midst of a lush, green oasis. Yes, please!
The Inspiration:
For this Mommy & Me session, we ventured into the calming embrace of a local greenhouse. The idea? To capture the quiet, gentle connection between a mother and her son in a serene setting that echoed their warmth. There’s just something about soft light filtering through leaves, the scent of fresh blooms, and the stillness of nature that invites honest, beautiful moments, and boy, did we find them.
Favorite Element:
The lush environment stole the show. The vibrant greens, delicate florals, and climbing plants wrapped us in a dreamy jungle hug. The greenhouse gave us texture, dimension, and natural beauty at every turn, an absolute dream for storytelling through photographs.
Biggest Challenge:
Ah, the light, our old frenemy! One minute we were basking in the glow of golden sunshine, the next we were dancing with shadows from a rogue palm leaf. The ever-changing light conditions kept me on my toes, adjusting and adapting between sunbursts and shade. But hey, a little challenge just keeps things interesting, right?
Final Thoughts:
This session was everything I hoped it would be: peaceful, heartfelt, and brimming with authentic connection. I loved how the location added so much to the story, the serenity, the colors, the subtle sense of escape. It felt like we had the world to ourselves, even just for a moment. And in that little greenhouse, surrounded by green, we grew something pretty special.
