Fruit and Cheese Kabobs with Yogurt and Honey Dip have only 5 ingredients. Minimal prep, virtually no cleanup, and the possibilities are endless. Pair seasonally appropriate fruit with its complementary cheese and you have a completely new snack! Remember to trim the ends of pointy skewers before giving to younger children.
We don’t think this Trail Mix Popcorn snack requires the homemade seasoning mix at all, but add it on on Fridays, or for a special reward! Cranberries and raisins are full of naturally occurring antioxidants, while popcorn (popped from plain kernels) provides whole grains and fiber. Yum!
This recipe for Mini Spinach-and-Cheese Pizzas comes from Martha herself. Especially when served on fiber-rich whole wheat pitas, the health benefits are self-explanatory, but it’s the creamy, savory flavor that will have your kids begging you to make these again and again! If green makes them scream, hide the spinach under part-skim ricotta, or pre-blend the iron-loaded greens in a tablespoon of olive oil before spreading on your pita pizzas.
Throw all of the ingredients for these Peanut Butter Energy Bites into one bowl, stir, roll, and chill. Easy! Chock full of oats, coconut, and ground flax seeds with honey, these bites are a favorite of NAPCP moms, too! So good. Head over to Crunchy Creamy Sweet for substitutions, and variations on this scrumptious snack.
Enjoy!
