Session share……..A Day at the Market

One of the best things about living in California is the Sunday Farmer’s Market.  The early morning hustle and bustle, the colors, the smells and sampling of delicious freshly picked produce.  It’s a whole sense awakening experience coupled with your morning coffee stroll.  I was excited to discover that this family LOVES the market as much as I do!  I didn’t hesitate for a minute when I  suggested to my clients that this would be a perfect place for a family “day in the life” shoot.   Lucky for me, they were MORE than up for it.  Capturing real family moments is my biggest passion about this job.  The images always reflect that true genuine spirit.

Inspiration: I’m constantly looking for new and fresh places to shoot family sessions.   I’m always inspired by a families unique style and interests, and try to incorporate their individuality in each session that I shoot.  For this particular family, the Farmers Market is part of  their Sunday morning routine.
Favorite Element: The naturally vibrant colors found at the market.
Biggest Challenge: All the background people!  Mostly, trying to keep the background distractions out of the frame, but also reassuring my clients that they should just ignore whatever attention we are getting from shooting in such a public place.  After about 10 minutes, we are all unaware of any sideways glances.
What clients said:  “We were a bit nervous not knowing what to expect, but Helene put us so at ease. We had a wonderful time and are thrilled with the pictures.  They really captured such great memories for us.”
Final words from the Photographer: It’s so important to me to document real life moments and to capture a family’s true emotion.  My “day in the life” sessions are my absolute favorite to photograph.  This blog is such a great resource for families and photographers to come to for inspiration.  Thank you NAPCP!
